Cleaning And Care
Beautiful they are and hard to keep clean. Here’s how to remove the gunk and keep clear glass shower doors clean.
Frequently cleaning
Though most people prefer periodic cleaning of the shower enclosure, it is best to avoid accumulation of soap, scum and grease by cleaning the enclosure immediately after showering as opposed to after a fortnight or so. If the water is left for long periods of time, it will result in high humidity levels in the shower which causes mould growth and musty odors.
Checking the functionality of the enclosure
Part of caring for the enclosure involves ensuring that the enclosure is not only properly installed but it works superbly. The hinges and the pivot should swing freely without any obstruction. The glass enclosures should particularly be well taken care of since any small hindrance means they can easily break. The vertical edge of the glass should be parallel to the wall.
However, they should be well taken care of at all times. Aluminum enclosures should essentially not be cleaned immediately after the shower but periodic cleaning to remove build up of scum and soap. Abrasive cleaners should not be used on aluminum enclosures. Many people make the mistake of thinking that aluminum is hard enough to handle abrasive cleaners. Harsh abrasive cleaners and many cleaners used on glass will remove the anodized aluminum coating where the shiny coating is lost.
